Workshops and Seminars

Expertise in assessing Lower Extremity Function by the 6 tests and improving it with custom Formthotics™ Orthoses is acquired by learning the information in the knowledge base and gaining hands-on experience at Workshops or Courses.

Dr. Charlie Baycroft and other accredited teachers of the Formthotics™ Medical System are available to provide ongoing education in the form of Lectures, Workshops and Courses. These are offered regularly in various countries. Details of upcoming events can be obtained by contacting the Formthotics™ Distributor in your area.

Lectures (1 Hour)
  • Provide a brief overview of the theoretical basis for the Formthotics™ Medical System Model, the 6 tests™ for assessing Lower Extremity Function and the 6 steps™ for making custom Formthotics™ to relieve symptoms and reliably improve function.
  • For larger groups of more than 30 attendees
  • Free of charge.
Practical Workshops (3 hours)
  • Provide hands-on experience in assessing Lower Extremity Function with the 6 Tests™ and making and adjusting custom Formthotics orthoses.
  • Attendees work in pairs and groups to acquire the skills and confidence to reliably relieve their patient's symptoms and improve lower extremity function.
  • Methods learned are completely compatible and synergistic with other modalities of musculo-skeletal medicine and rehabilitation.
  • Attendance is limited to no more than 24 people
  • Participants should familiarize themselves with the theoretical and research material presented on this website prior to attending.
  • Fees are charged to recover event costs.
One Day Courses (6 hours)
  • Provide in-depth understanding of the theoretical concepts and scientific literature relating to foot orthoses and lower extremity function as well as hands-on experience in assessing function and improving it with custom Formthotics™ foot orthoses.
  • Reference is also made to specific pathologies and how to integrate orthotic therapy with other modalities for more effective pain relief and rehabilitation.
  • Attendance is limited to 24 participants per course
  • Fees are charged to recover event costs.
Advanced Courses (6 hours)
  • Only available to those who have completed the One Day Course and have been using the Formthotics™ Medical System in treating their patients. After short review of the knowledge base, the 6 Tests™ and the 6 Steps™, the emphasis is on the treatment of specific conditions.
  • The presentation of new scientific literature and discussion of specific problem cases increases the participant's confidence and ability to improve patient outcomes.
  • Attendance is limited to 24 participants
  • Fees are charged to recover event costs.
Certification Courses (6 hours)
  • Many practitioners desire to give something back to their colleagues and professions through teaching and we are constantly looking for such people to help us. The content of the One Day and Advanced courses is reviewed and the participants demonstrate their knowledge and expertise by assessing and treating a patient.
  • On completing a written and oral exam successful candidates are approved to become teachers of the Formthotics™ Medical System Lectures, Workshops and Courses.
  • There is no cost for the Certification course. Practitioners that complete the certification and teach Workshops and Courses will be properly remunerated for the time and expenses involved.
